Could you help me rephrase a few words. How can I say it differently "a way of travelling"? A method to have a trip? (it is bad, isn't it?)

Colloquially, “way of traveling “ is natural and common. Another phrase is ‘mode of transport’ which would be widely understood but can sound a bit technical.
And using other parts of speech can convey the same idea. Examples:
Even though there is a subway system, buses are the main mode of transport.
Trains are my favorite way of traveling in France.
I like traveling solo.
I hate traveling by car with my family, but it’s the only thing I can afford.
Let’s go by plane this time.
Air travel is experiencing growth now.
