Today is the day called "Mother's Day" in Japan. Many Japanese thank their mother and give presents. My mother is in the hospital now so I couldn't give her a present. So I sent a thank you message.

I think it sounds better if you include "her"/"them" every time. I hope your mom gets well soon!!
