What difference between "I wonder" and "I'm wondering"?

Well, "I wonder" is simple present and "I'm wondering" is present continuous.
I know that´s not the answer you are looking for, but that´s what I can add.

You can " I wonder" if you are asking someone's opinion or information .
"I am wondering " - can be used to guess something happened or it will happen or to ponder
