Practically none.. although, “can” has become a substitute for “may” (asking permission).. e.g., can I call you? can I take you out to dinner some time?

Can refers to possibility and be able to refers to ability.
I can do it= It's possible for me to do it
I am able to do it= I have the ability to do it
