I went on a birthday trip with my mother. It was colder than I expected🥲
We 'go on a trip', 'have a trip' or 'take a trip'.
You need the comparative form of cold = colder. It might be useful for you to practice using comparative adjectives as they can sometimes be confusing.
Perhaps make sentences with these words: warmer, longer, bigger, hotter, heavier, taller.
