Thurs, Jan 26, 2023 Today I read a very impressive exhibition catalogue published by Yokohama Museum of Eurasian Cultures. It shows the history of Chinese "traditional" clothing, which is actually not so traditional. It was created in 1920s under the influence of Western one piece clothing. The catalogue struck me as pretty interesting because it illustrates the way people living in Yokohama Chinatown mixed Chinese, Japanese and Western clothing cultures and enjoyed their unique fashion even in a wartime. I've decided to make much use of this catalogue in my class. I hope it will interest and inspire my students a lot.
