Community Tutor¡Hola! 👋 Did you know that in Spanish, the word “¡Ojo!” literally means “eye,” 👀 but people use it all the time to say “Careful!” or “Watch out!”?
It’s one of those short, powerful words that you’ll hear everywhere in Spain and Latin America.
✨ Examples:
“¡Ojo con el coche!” → “Watch out for the car!”
“¡Ojo, este verbo es irregular!” → “Careful, this verb is irregular!”
I love expressions like this because they’re simple, but they instantly make you sound more natural when speaking Spanish.
👉 Does your language also use a body part in an expression like this?
I’d love to hear!
