An increasing number of people are choosing to have cosmetic surgery in order to improve their appearance. Why are more people choosing to have operations to change the way they look? Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
More and more people would like to be the patiences of cosmetic surgery clinics to enhance their beauty. One of the possible reasons for this development could lie in the social standards which pushed people to change their appearance. In my point of view such a tendency could lead to bad consequences, such as physical or psychological harm.
Societal standards can play a significant role in influencing people's decisions to undergo cosmetic surgery. It could be a possible reason why individuals would like to improve nature's beauty. For instance, in South Korea a lot of people try to have the same face as their idol. Consequently, a major part of the young generation has the operations to improve their appearance. Additionally, the society, such as a family or school community, helps them to be more attractive.
However, a lot of traumas in physical and psychological aspects could be, especially for young men and women. There are it could be because of bad surgery but sometimes the idols can be replaced in the future. As a result, potentially many people can faced with the problems due to this development, such as disabilities or depression. It is a possible reason why I believe that the idea of having cosmetic surgery is not a positive trend.
In conclusion, the trend of cosmetic surgery is booming right now and a lot of people would like to change something in their appearance. In my opinion, it is a value imposed by society and it is a reason why it could lead to negative development. Reducing the number of idols and propaganda of natural beauty could be more beneficial for the prosperous future.
