In the morning I was so sad because I got bad news. I went to a store and met my mother's friend. She always smiles! We started talking and I told her about my problems. She supported me and said that I should be positive. She told me that a lot of things happened to her in life, but she always tried to be positive. Her open smile helped me believe that everything would be fine. When I was walking home, I thought that when I was younger, I smiled more. Stressful situations can make us sad and depressed, but one kind smile can change everything.
Smile and support each other.🙂

Privet Maria. First you need to be positive - later you can stay/keep positive, as in continue to be positive. "Had happened" - something that happened BEFORE the moment that you are talking about in the past in your story. We use past continous when we want to talk about a second thing that happened during that time - you thought about something. Regards, Simon.

I was so sad this morning because I got bad news. I went to a store and met my mother's friend. She always smiles! We started talking and I told her about my problems. She supported me and said that I should stay positive. She told me that a lot of things happened to her too in life, but she always tried to be / remain positive. Her open smile helped me believe that everything would be fine. When I walked back home, I thought that when I was younger, I smiled more / I used to smile more. Stressful situations can make us sad and depressed, but one kind smile can change everything.
We should smile and support each other.🙂
Good work.
