If two people travel together what is the correct phrase for such a journey: common travel, joint travel, travel together or any other variants?

I would suggest:
They're traveling together.
They're taking a trip together.
They're going on a trip together.
They're going to (name of destination) together.

Travel buddies - for travelling, not commuting - unless used in a joking way
