I don't know. Honestly, I think a "happy wife" doesn't automatically make a good life. [Here you could also say "I don't think a happy wife automatically makes a good life - this sounds a bit more natural] I guess that happy people around you motivate you and it helps to have a happier life but it doesn't solve all your problems.
