It is kind of difficult to answer such a question because these words have multiple meanings on its own. The meanings I’ve chosen below will revolve around the idea of “making something seen" 其实这样问会比较难回答,因为这些词每个词可能会有众多的意思。在以下的解释,我选出跟“让人看到” 的意思有关。 reveal = 透露 (to show something that was hidden at first) - reveal a secret - “The clouds parted to reveal a clear sky” – I’m not sure which Chinese word to use in this context. illustrate = 说明 - Give examples to make something easier to understand - Explain with stories, pictures and diagrams e.g. “To illustrate my point, let me…” indicate = 表示、显示 - May be used in formal situations to replace the word “show” in some cases E.g. “Our records indicate that…” show = 给人看 - E.g. Can you show me how it's done - E.g. I showed her a picture of my family demonstrate = 演示 - To show how something works or how to do something. E.g. “demonstrate an app” display = 给人看、表现出 - Sometimes can be used to replace the word “show” in some cases - To put something where people can see it. E.g. The museum displays relics and artifacts from World War 2. - To show a skill, emotion, etc.. Eg. “display no interest” Hope this helps! 😄
