"What do you think, hantel?" source: If It Bleeds by Stephen King context: Granddad was telling about ghosts he had seen in the cupola to his grandson. What does 'hantel' refer to here? They are Jewish, by the way.

I think hantel here is a name for a third person in the story

I don’t know where the story takes place but if they are American Jewish people it might be a Yiddish word. But I don’t know what it means.
