Someone translated the text bellow for English but I honestly found it odd. I am looking for a honest third opinion. What do you think? "I'm planning to visit my boyfriend who lives in S., BC and go sking with him in this same town. I also intend to visit the tourist attractions of H.G., as I am very interested in nature. He offered me this trip as a birthday present and, as this destination is where he, his family and friends live, I am more interested in going to this region, as I will be staying for a short period."

Here is my version of the text: “I’m planning to visit my boyfriend who lives in S., BC. While I am there, we will go skiing. I am also planning to visit H.G. and enjoy the nature-themed tourist attractions. My boyfriend gave me this trip as a birthday present and, since this is actually where his family and friends live, I am looking forward to exploring this area during my stay.”

This text is fine, but reads formally, so a little unnatural given the content. A more natural version could be: I'm planning on visiting my boyfriend who lives in S., BC and going skiing with him there. I'm also gonna visit the tourist attractions (or better: sites) in H.G., because I'm really into nature. He gave me a trip as a birthday present, and seeing as this is where he, his friends, and his family live, I am more interested in going there, as I will only be there for a short while.
