Please correct my writing and teach me better/more natural expressions or phrases.
Since I wrote about a little serious topic in a previous post, I'd like to write about a light topic, Ramen (Chinese noodles).
Of course, I love it too and ate it yesterday.
It maybe no exaggeration to say that nobody Japanese people dislike Ramen.
Everybody can talk beyond generations, if it's about Ramen.
In Japanese language, "men"(麺) means noodles itself except soup.
(Almost the same pronunciation "men" as male in English.)
Prices of Ramen are from about 600 yen to 1200 yen.
(about 5-9 dollars at today's rate.)
There are so many kinds of Ramen in Japan. I think its kind will increase from now on.
Speaking of kinds of soup, soy sause(醤油), soy bean paste(味噌), salt, and ton-kotsu, soup taken from pork-bones' essence(豚骨)are typical.
And categorizing except soup, there are dipped noodles (tsuke-men;つけ麺) and stirred noodles with paste and toppings (maze-soba;まぜそば).
When eating dipped noodles (the picture of the left), noodles and soup are in another bowls.
You dip noodles in soup and eat it.
I like all kinds of ramens though, I like dipped noodles the best!
When eating stirred noodles (the picture of the right), you stir noodles and toppings well well well...and eta it.
For your information:
Noodles to say... No, needles to say, tastes are completely different depending on shops. The shop that has a long-waiting line is not always match your taste.
So I highly recommend that you collect information online in advance.
Since many of Japanese workers rush into restaurants at lunch time, around 12-13 p.m., if you want to eat Ramen at a popular shop, you want to go to the shop after lunch time.
Please note that you eat Ramen with chopsticks and there are shops opening only in lunch time.
