Greetings to all English language learners!

I am the creator of the Mac application SynMap. SynMap is a visual dictionary for the English language based on WordNet that allows for searching words and synonyms in intuitive and interactive way. Some of you may have used Visual Thesaurus http://www.visualthesaurus.com, which is an online tool that allows a few queries after which it will ask for a subscription that costs $20 per year.


 As a non-native English speaker I used Visual Thesaurus for writing essays in University while studying computer science. It helped me greatly, but at the time it was costly for an international student. Years later I was doing research on visualization algorithms and came up with an idea to build a native application for Mac that works just like Visual Thesaurus and even better because it does not require internet connection.
