Teachers aren't responding

I've sent an introductory message to two different teachers and have not gotten any replies.  How can I be sure iTalki is properly sending my messages and that they are bieng received?

Well there are a few options:

1. The teacher is not looking for new students (you should check if he or she looks for new students or not)

2. Just like Christina explains, if you put everything that might look like advertising, your messages are going to get delayed. That's because in their terms and conditions they marked it's not allowed to put any other links or something like that.

3. Maybe they work on something so that's why there are some kind of issues.

Anyhow, I think you took a good decidion... I mean, when you decided to write an email to the Italki customer support. I wish you good luck and I hope you're going to solve this issue as soon as it's possible.

Have a nice day.

Thank you, all, for your replies.  I've sent an email to iTalki support.  Alessandro, you were indeed one of the teachers I messaged.  Here is what I said:

Salve! Ho studiato italiano per un anno, ma non ho studiato per uno o due mese. Voglio parlare solo italiano durante le lezioni. Mi piace che Lei istruisce bambini. Credo che mio italiano é uguale a bambino che ha due anni.

Ciao,

Michele

You should pay attention if they are looking for new students. I have found some old profiles with the notification that they are not available for lessons.

Mike,

If you write a session message when you book a lesson, it doesn't appear anywhere but in the session details. Some teachers may respond to the request from a mobile phone but they will not know there is a message until they open the session page on their computer.

If you include links or anything that looks like advertising, your message will get delayed (1-2 days) and the other user won't even receive a notification. I've discovered quite a few past messages in my inbox purely by chance.

It could also be that either the teachers are lazy and forget to reply or they believe there is no need for an answer as long as they follow your specific request during the session.

I don't know, Mike. But if you sent a message to me, it's sure that Italki did not properly send your message :)
