I live in the southern part of Nagasaki, Kyushu. We usually use the strong dialect and accent in Japanese here. When my friend from Tokyo came here, he told me he didn't understand what the local people meant. Some of those can't speak standard Japanese though they get it. I can speak it perfectly because I have lived in Tokyo for a total of 20 years.

Look at the link above. We use the accent of pink area called "Kyushu two-pattern area". However people in the northern part of Nagasaki use "no-accent" different from our local accent despite that part is only 50 km (30 miles) away from here.

I've been to Bousou(=Boushu) many times. Then I didn't notice any difference between the Boushu dialect and standard Japanese. Mostly the older people from Bousou might speak the dialect.
By the way, when I was a driving instructor 2 years ago, a Chinese woman came to the driving school as a student. She already spoke fluent Japanese in those days because she had studied Japanese in Tokyo for 2 years before she moved here. However she told me our local dialect didn't sound Japanese.

yes,there are many different kinds of dialects in China. Except Mandarin, Cantonese is the most wildly-used language in China. once I heard an interesting phenomenon in some rural place that even the people live two banks of a river, they cannot communicate with each other fluently. because they speak their own dialects. lol
Hi, I'm shu and native Osaka dialect speaker.
This summer I went to bousyu area on WWOOF. There is a bousyu dialect. It's really difficult to understand for native japanese. Because what they say is what i've not heard ever and some word are expert agricultural. It doesn't mean because I'm kansai people. During summer vacation, I enjoyed thier bousyu dialect !
Thank for a nice comment. Certainly Kansai accent is very district but it's not hard for us to understand, because lots of Japanese commedians often use that accent on TV. I'm rather interested in the differences between Mandarin and other Chinese languages. China is a huge country. I have heard there are a lot of languages in China.
