Do you think it's helpful to have your writing corrected? How do you learn from the corrections?

I think it's very helpful to ask native speakers to correct my English. I read the corrections again and again.

I think it's great when people are nice enough to correct your writing. When I was posting compositions in French, I found it really helpful because it helped to develop a kind of vernacular for the things I was interested in and would likely be talking about again and again (in any language).

For example, if I wrote something about photography, the corrections would help me learn some of the more specific vocabulary related to it. They also help in fine tuning the grammar because I'll instinctively write from an Anglophone point of view and sometimes, there's just no translation and you just have to think and say it in your target language.

I really appreciate people correcting my entries, their correction shows me how many basic mistakes I make and how much work is waiting for me.

To learn from my mistakes I write down on sticky notes expressions which I found interesting or necessary to remember. ;-)

Kasia... Sticky notes seem to be a good tool to learn something!
