I am a boargamer too, and the last boardgame i tryed was Casttles of Burgundy or something like that. It's a game that you have to build some kind of villages in your board while you buy defferent tiles of buildings and things on main board. You have to choose the actions depending on a two dies throw. Well, and more things obviously...

I have tried many different boardgames, i think best are Agricola, Puerto Rico, Cavern ( similar to agricola), Luna, Seven wonders, Dominion. As you can see, different kind of boardgames and playway.

What kind of boardgames do you like? Have you tried any of theese?

My family and I play many boardgames.  We are on vacation now and took some of our favorites with us: Lords of Waterdeep, Stone Age, Splendor, and Carcasonne.  

There is a site, roll20.net, that is a group conferencing site to play table games.   Although most of the games there are role playing games, I am currently trying out making Blurt (an English vocabulary game) into one that can be played as a group online there, for non-native English speakers who want to build their vocabulary. (My idea is I would moderate the game and those who have not found enough native speakers as language exchange partners could build their vocabulary and improve their pronunciation in a group.)

Last week I tried the cards from Blurt in some informal tutoring sessions, with me reading the cards in English and then trying to translate them into Spanish for my Spanish tutors.   I tried to get the words in Spanish and they taught me the ones I did not know.  They also tried to get the words in English.  It was fun for me comparing the languages and seeing whether the cards were very understandable to non-native speakers. 

Roll20.net uses dice and I think I can make a system that allows players to roll the dice instead of blurt out the words when they roll the dice.  I think the different dice could be used to make a system of handicapping so non-native speakers with different sizes of vocabulary could still play together.  I will need some playtesters to try it out though. If anyone is reading this who is interested in playtesting, my plan is that it would be a game I offer for free on occasional Saturdays.

Playing Mahjong, I learned to write one to nine in Chinese ..haha...result !

I play on my Nintendo alone these days, but when I was a kid, I played Scrabble and Monopoly a lot, when very young I played Snakes and Ladders, I still love Battleship, Trouble and Operation were huge here in the 60s.
