Good Italian or Spanish music

Hi. I find that listening to music is a really good way to help my language comprehension but it's hard to find good modern music when it is not your language nor culture. The Irish music I like, for example, is The Script, Kodaline and sometimes singer/songwriters like Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Ken Burke, Lisa Hannigan... Can anyone recommend me music in Italian or Spanish? Thanks :)

Hi Declan, I agree music is a great way to get to "feel"  a language ! It can be very motivating  !

What I have noticed, however, is that for English speakers it is  hard to get cose to Italian music which is a little old fashioned.

It took me quite a while to develop an ear for it.

There are some technical reasons for it, which I don't want to bore you with. It has to do with lyrics being very important in Italian and the musicality of the language.

Some time ago, I prepared a spotify playlist of Italian songs, why don't you check it out and get an idea ? https://open.spotify.com/user/11132878815/playlist/5W6PoX5GXjtR1ZtsWcvOzx

Of course, we are all different and you may not like this specific list but it will help you get an idea. If you like one artist, then you could look for something similar.

Would love to hear how it goes !

In Italian music you can listen so many singer like  Giorgia, Biagio Antonacci, Fabrizio De Andrè Tiro mancino, etc. There are so many arists.

About Spanish I am listening Jorge Drexler, Soda stereo, Julieta Venegas, Rosana.

It depends from your musical style.
