Hi,

Does anybody know of any language qualifications you can get for Russian, to show what level you are at. I am looking to take a few tests, to have proof of my level of Russian, for when I interview for potential jobs. I also want to do it for personal reasons as well.
The TRKI exam is what you want. You can sit the exam in London:

I took my B1 exam there 2 years ago and can recommend them. It's the only place that offers these exams in the UK. They hold the exams once a year in the summer, so if you want to sit an exam this year you'll need to apply pretty shortly. Alternatively many language schools and universities in Russia allow you to sit the exam at any time.
If you need any more info or advice just give me a shout.
There are MANY exams you can take like that.
The US Army has them. The British Army has them.
Oh, wait, you might not want to be a soldier ...
;)
This table compares the TORFL with other language certifications: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Test_of_Russian_as_a_Foreign_Language#Level_comparison_with_common_EFL_tests.2C_ALTE_and_CEFR
Good luck.
Roy
PS: THE number one method is conversation. Russians KNOW anyone can pass an exam and not be able to use the language.
