Is this sentence correct? "My favorite animal is dogs."
Is this sentence correct? "My favorite animal is dogs."
Or should it be corrected to" My favorite animal is the dog." or ""My favorite animals are dogs."?
How to say the sentence correctly? Thank you.

The best would be "my favorite animals are dogs". "is" refers to singular (dog) and "are" is plural (dogs). You could say "my favorite animal is the dog" but it wouldn't sound very natural.

You could also say it as, "Dogs are my favorite animal."
