My experience with the FCE exam.

Three weeks ago, I took the Fce exam. I had been studying for one year on my own to prepare it. Well, I'm not satisfied about how it went. I was really concerned with two parts of the exam, the speaking and the writing, and I was pretty confident with the rest of it. Unfortunately, the part of the use of english and the reading was a nightmare. Really complicated, especially the reading. I'm used to reading books and articles in English so I thought to be ready enough for getting over that parts but I found the texts in the exam really tricky with many words that I didn't know.  Maybe I was just unfortunate. Anyway, the speaking and the wirting parts were easy and I think to have passed them.

Now I'm waiting for the result.

The exercises in the use of English and the reading are really difficult.  It takes a bit of training to get used to doing those specific styles of question, almost like doing a su doku puzzle.  It is always a good idea to practise many past papers to learn how the questions work. If you read a lot though I'm sure you will have done better than you thought you did!

Good luck with the results!

English tests can be really tough and quite different from conversational English. Good luck!
