Prepositions

The prepositions and me!!!!

I really have problem with prepositions.

Could a native give a help to me?

I learn better with examples.

I'd like to start with TO, FOR and BY.

After I intend going ahead with others.

Thanks.

I used to have the same problem.

Would you like to know how I learned to manage them all?

Stop studying them and yes get used to them with phrases, every time you read an article, a book or a lyric of a song you can learn more and more.

That works for me, of course that I will always have some doubts about them, that's natural, but at least I don't have to try to memorize them all.

I hope it helps.

You can learn it by youself with English Grammar in Use. Raymond Murphy for intermediate students.

That's the best book for grammar studying.

Hope it will help you.

You need to learn these prepositions as parts of phrases. That's the easiest way to understand them. Don't even look at a dictionary; that will only confuse you.

There are no really applicable grammar rules for prepositions. It is the most difficult part, and there are even regional differences in use. You just have to get a "gut feeling" for them, by practicing, repeating, reading, listening.
