Is there a arabic dictionary that has examples of the word in a sentence. This would be really helpful since I am not confident if I haven't seen the word a couple times.

It's relly helpful to check all meaning, sometimes provided examples
If you have an IPhone there is a free searchable Hans Wehr dictionary that you can download. You find it in the AppStore under the name Arabic almanac.
otherwise the Mawrid is a great classic, also available on the AppStore.
otherwise online there is aratools just great!
