Pizza! Describe a typical pizza in your town. Every Tuesday, for the last 15 years, I have been taking my family to Straw Hat Pizza restaurant. Straw Hat has a motto: "Left coast, right pizza." The USA is very diverse, so I will describe a pizza from the west coast. A popular pizza is named "California veggie". This pizza has zucchini, mushroom, olives, onions, broccoli. and artichoke on top a white garlic sauce, then baked onto a medium or thick crust. Also we the meatlover's pizza of sausage, linguesa, pepperoni and salami on marinara sauce. A modern option is fresh tomatoes laid on top after baking.

@Lisa

I've had anchovies on my pizza for years.

I like classics: most of the times it's just tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Sometimes I add some sort of cured meat (ham, dry-cured ham, bresaola, ect) or veggies, but not that often.

I have never tried the one with pineapples and, I admit, I am not sure I would like to.

I also must disagree with Tano, a couple of comments above. I know a place where they bake an amazing "pizza al taglio" in their wood oven ;-)

What a joyful topic :) I live in Russia, where some of the most delicious pizzas are from! And a reason for that is no matter what kind of pizza you order or make at home, it always comes with a really generous coat of everything - it can be salami, tomato sauce and pepper (my combination of choice) or anything you want! Other factors don't really matter, because as long as you have a taste of each ingredient, you don't even notice a crust or are tomatoes fresh or baked :)
