I've not started to learn it but it is on my list of languages to learn. As to why, in the part of the US where I live, Arabic is the second most widely-spoken non-English language. Being able to speak Arabic would be quite helpful. Plus, I think it's a pretty neat language.

I have two goals for learning Arabic: 1. I want to be able to read classical Arabic books. 2. It would be a good idea to be able to speak in the language which is spoken in surrounding countries.

Because it is totally different and it is so challenging.
Plus, I have so many friends from Africa and that would be nice to tell them something in Arabic.
Finally, I know I'll visit Egypt one day so I'll need to learn Arabic, at least for a bit.
