Here are some phrases and idioms to describe the "scorching heat" of summer:

1. We're experiencing a serious heat wave!

*Heat Wave = Long period of abnormally hot weather.

        *Sauna = hot and humid

*Take care not to = be careful not to

Examples: Take care not to catch a cold.

Take care not to get hurt.

Take care not to lose your English.

Are there also some phrases and idioms that deal with a long lasting raining-summer in which it rains cats and dogs almost every day? I guess my feet will transform soon to feet with webs between the toes after a long rain period. --
Of course, I know: "Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!" OR "Lovely weather for ducks."  But that's all and a bit too little. Thank you and have a nice day.

Wow you know many many good idioms and phrases about rain! You sound like a native :) Yes, we have had a lot of rain here too during rainy season. But it's finally starting to clear up. Don't get drenched! Stay dry!

The only other idiom I can think of concerning rain is "Save ____ for a rainy day"

It means "to keep something for the future, especially money, when you might need it"

Besides that, I found this funny post describing phrases similar to "It's raining cats and dogs" in other languages http://mentalfloss.com/article/12931/15-international-idioms-describe-heavy-rain
