The main character in the book "Whirligig" by Paul Fleischman is Brent Bishop, an eleventh grader whose bad temper causes a tragedy. Lea Zamora is Brent's victim. Other characters include the Bishop parents, the Zamora parents, the judge, Miss Gill the mediator, Brent's friend Chaz and popular girl Brianna.
