What is your posture while reading a book?

I know I should be asking you what (kinds of) books you like the most, but I chose to ask you this slightly awkward question. Hope you don't mind:)

My problem is that whenever I try to read a book sleeping on my bed, soon after reading a page or so, I find the book sleeping on my chest:) I don't know why reading books acts like a sleeping pill to me! That's why, at first, I try to read it sitting in the chair, but after sometimes, I automatically follow towards my bed, but not at once I go in a sleeping posture. I try to read it sitting on my bed, then at snail's pace, I finally find my head resting on the pillow! Then after sometimes, my chest becomes the pillow for the book:)

I know there are many people here who love reading. So, could you please share your reading posture? Who knows your posture might act like a anti-sleeping pill to me!:)

Anything you would like to mention other than this specific question would be appreciated!

Thank you:)

it seems nowadays everyone opts for learning about stuff using videos like youtube, etc. It's so much more convenient...

anyway, in my experience the posture doesn't matter in terms of making me sleepy or not.

if the book holds my attention i'll keep reading until long past midnight and tear my gaze away only when I realize it's essential to get at least some sleep.

but when I'm forced to read something or the book isn't really my cup of coffee then I can fall asleep sitting on a rattling train.

Find a tree. Climb it.  Sit in its branches, and read.

I sit up in bed because I want to be comfortable while reading.  I prop up my pillows behind me and get cozy. I do not fall asleep reading, ever,  but maybe that is because I am very interested in what I am reading.

However, if I need to read for work, sometimes I go to a cafe and bring my books with me. I used to study at the cafe during my university days. It was the only way that I would not get distracted by my room or get lazy and take a nap. Maybe try reading out in a public place, cafe, library, restaurant so that you can stay focused and avoid falling asleep.

I've got exactly the same problem as you do while reading in bed. The minute I get cosy and relaxed proped up in my pillow while reading my eyelids start drooping and all the sudden I get hit in the face by my kindle, lol. What helps me is listening to a song while reading so the bedroom won't get too quiet and trying not to slide from a sitting position to a sleeping one.

I read in all kinds of positions. Sometimes I even pace around while reading.
