Wie sagt man " Have you been there" auf Deutsch?

Hallo Leute! Wie geht's ?

Ich habe eine Frage: When talking about a place that you recently travelled, and if I wanted to ask a friend " Have you been there?" how should I say it in German? 

Is it: 

"Hast du schon dorthin gewesen?" 

or 

"Warst du schon dort?" 

Do you have any suggestions? Vielen Dank:)

"Hast du schon dorthin gewesen?" is wrong. It should be "Bist du schon (mal) dort gewesen?" It sounds better with "mal", but "mal" can be omitted.

"Warst du schon dort?" is correct. Again, it sounds a bit better with "mal": "Warst du schon mal dort?"
