when giving your age in an introduction, is it" eu sou 52 anos" or " eu estou 53 anos"?

In Portugal as well, the verb used with age is "ter": "Eu tenho _ anos".

In Portuguese (ter), Spanish (tener), Italian (avere) and French (avoir), we can't translate "I am [age]" directly from English.

Oh, the perils of word for word translation!

Hey! Actually in portuguese we use "Eu tenho 52 anos", here in Brazil we dont say " I'm 52" It's more like "I have 52"
