Fridart Stichting? Is it a museum in Amsterdam?
The Renaissance painting, <Justice> by Lukas Cranach. The Goddess of Justice holds a scale in one hand, and a sword in other hand in the painting.

This painting is said to exhibited in Fridart Stichting in Amsterdam. I wonder if Fridart Stichting is an art museum or something else. I can't guess what it is, because I can't read Dutch at all.

Hi Castadiva,

I did a Google Search, but didn't found their own webpage. Stichting is what they most likely term an organization in English Speaking Countries, a museum is simply museum in Dutch, so that couldn't be it. Looked on Streetview location, and that's simply what we a call a shopping street. It's common for art exhibitions to be in an upper apartment somewhere above a store.

If you want me to take a look at the Dutch text, you could send a link.

Fridart will be a name and Stichting means Foundation. I would expect them to have a place with an exhibition.

It is also possible that they just support other exhibitions.

Olaf, now I guess Fridart Foundation owns the painting, <Justice> by Lukas Cranach the elder.

And I wish masterpieces would be kept in big museums in big cities for people to go see them easily. Should I wander the streets in Amsterdam to find the foundation to see the painting?
And It was really hard to know
what Firdart Stichting is. Now I barely understand the identity of it, through putting together many people's answers.

A member on italk answered me Fridart Stiching is an address in Amsterdam. So I think, if most Dutch people don't know about it, it can't be a museum or art gallery, maybe. It has a famous painter's painting and it can't that small, unknown gallery keeps it.

I'm not sure what it is on the earth..it might be a company or organization, and it owns a famous, very expensive painting inside  the building.

Oh, thank you, Jonathan.
If Fridart Stiching is not a museum, and doesn't have any meaning in Dutch, I guess it's a person's name. I infer this painting belongs to him, namely, private collection.

I really appreciate you for reply, because I was disappointed with no way to know what it is at all. I can't read Dutch at all. :))
