What do you think about videos that are showing subtitles in two languages at the same time?

I know that double subtitles help to reach more audience in a video, but sometimes I find them confusing even if I speak both languages.

What's your opinion?

It really depends on the individual. I’d prefer to have just one language of captions running, but it doesn’t bother me. I believe it definitely helps if you’re learning a new language. For example, I watch those infamous K-Dramas with English AND Korean subtitles. I’ve learned so much vocabulary and phrases by listening to what they’re saying and tieing it to the captions. I knew a lot before I even started my Korean 101 language class. It’s useful for sure! Though, it’s all circumstantial.

I agree with you Divine. I think that it depends a lot on the individual and how the subtitles were made. Sometimes I feel very uncomfortable when I'm watching a translation in one of the languages and I start feeling that some phrase or word is not as accurate as I would like it to be.
