The third person singular adds an s:
I run.
You run.
He runs.
Any one person or thing that you are talking about takes the third person singular verb form which adds an s in the present tense.
Bad driving causes many accidents.
Joy comes in the morning.
Pride comes before a fall.
My cat writes restaurant reviews in Sanskrit.
He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.
