The above proverb bears a negative connotation which mean: "Someone who does not settle in one place rarely prospers".
But I think it should contain a positive meaing as well. For example, let's consider I am that stone and if I stay at one place, do you think I can know what's happenig in the world? If I will not change my motion and emotion according to the changing time, I may probably get crushed under the wheel of omnipotent time. Just like a pavilion, if not inhabited, get lost into oblivion and turn into a hunted house where barely anyone wants to step their foot in, we should keep ourselves updated not by staying at one place but by keep moving...
So, I think the "rollong stone gather no moss" should contain a positive meaning as well.

People who are always moving, with no roots in one place or another, avoid responsibilities and cares.
A common modern meaning is that a person must stay active to avoid stagnation (to avoid being inactive or bored).
Health and medical professionals all agree that old people should keep moving because that is good for their health.
So.... keep moving :)
