Language exchange practicalities

For those experienced with language exchange....

How do you organise it?

Frequency once or twice a week?

Length of time? Total one hour? Less than that? More than that?

More than one language partner?

How long beforehand do you arrange to talk?

As you can tell, I haven't been very successful in past due to being a lazy so and so. LOL. No , actually, some of the people that want a language partner already have astonishing ability in their second language.

I'm a student at university, so I can adjust my time for learning in class and studying English myself. I am pretty weak in speaking, because in that time, I usually shame and shake inside, so sometime, I have to boost frequency of practicing English. I wanna share to you an experience of mine, I had a pretty long time didn't speak English and almost confident status in English were lost. Now I have to get more effort to recall my confidence.

It depends on how you are busy, how busy is your partner, what kind of language exchange you have.

In any case, a talk longer than one hour can be tiring.
