The main problem is that there is not a real "Arabic language" but a lot of "Arabic languages", the so called "dialects" are in fact different languages, and the Modern Standard Arabic is only a Classical common language that nobody use anywhere as a mother tongue, it's a kind of archaic Latin of the Arabic world.

For political or cultural reasons the different Arabic countries haven't developed and recognized their own national Arabic languages, and they don't enjoy an official status with an official writting, grammar, and vocabulary, so trying to learn Moroccan Arabic it's like trying to learn at first ancien Latin and after that travelling to France to learn French listening the people...

Different separated languages like Danish, Swedish, Norwegian are in fact more similar than Moroccan, Egyptian or Saudi Arabic that however are considered a single languages. If Arabic is a single language, then Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Romanian people are speaking all different dialects of the same language too. So learn Latin and then enjoy France, Spain, Italy or Portugal... It's crazy...

I hope that in the future the different countries realized about this situation, and recognize their own national languages. Classical Arabic could be studied os course, but like a separate subject. If they don't do that they will be destroying their own national languages and cultures. And more and more people will prefer to study and use as a high cultural language a foreing language like English or French.

I am at the very beginning, have just "collected" the alphabet.

For me, the writing from reight to left is still something to get accustomed to.
Then, the writing without vowels is also very new for me, the vocalisation helping a bit.

Apart from that, I am feeling like in a new universe and am eager to learn more. :)
