How to ask How do you say "Are you from Russia" in Russian, and is "вы русская?" the correct way to ask "Are you Russian?" to a female in Russian?

Спасибо!

Дополнение. Очень давно слово “спасибо” представляло собой словосочетание “спаси Бог”, т.е. “спаси (тебя) Бог”. Потом слова “спаси” и “Бог” срослись, а буква “г” отпала.

Буду очень признателен, если кто-нибудь поправит данный мой перевод на английский.

Аn addition. Very long ago the word “спасибо” was the phrase “спаси Бог” = “God save you”. Further the words “спаси” and “Бог” grew together, and the letter “г” was fallen away.

I would be very grateful if someone will correct this my English translation.

I would write as Destiny did that, reserving capitalized "Вы" for emphasized respect or admiration, in a very solemn fashion.

Yes, it's correct.

I would write: Большое Вам спасибо.

If we write to someone personally, and want to show our respect, the word "Вы" in Russian we are writing with a capital letter.

Addressing to several people, we are writing the word "вы" with a small letter.

Are you from Russia? - Вы из России? (formal)/ Ты из России? ( informal)

Are you Russian? - Вы русская? (formal to a female)/ Вы русский? (formal to a male)/ Ты русская?/Ты русский? (informal)

If you have other questions, don't hesitate to ask me.
