Looking for a podcast in Korean/Chinese
Hey:) I am currently studying Korean and Chinese (Mandarin) and I'm looking for a method to improve my listening skill:) do you have any podcast you would like to recommend? What is the most efficient way you used to work on that?:)

Hi Hadar! As a big fan of podcast who has been benefiting a lot from that when it comes to languages learning, I'm very happy to come across this post, and would like to share with you some podcasts I have been listening for years!

FYI: I'm a Chinese native speaker, my second language is English, and I've been learning Japanese, Korean, German and Norwegian. Here I will list some for Korean and Chinese.

Podcasts:
Part 1- Korean Learning
1, Talk to me in Korean (Best one I have found so far for both beginners and advanced learners)
2, Learn Korean with David (A very useful platform to learn basic Korean words and phrases with perfect timing)

Part 2 - Chinese Learning
1, Himalaya FM (A platform for creative audio content in Chinese, you might need to find the topic interest you most)
2, 糖蒜女子脱口秀 (Advanced Level )
3, Round Table 圆桌会议 (Bilingual in Chinese and English )
(Those are based on contents more than languages learning as I'm a native speaker, other fellow Chinese learner might have better ideas than I do)

Tips:
1,You may find it's almost impossible to catch up at the beginning, which is very normal it happed to me as well, as our sub-conscientious brain is faster than your conscientious brain, listening is basically harder even your reading and writing are already good, so you might need more patience and dedication when you start this learning process.
2, Find the content that interests you so you can listen to it everyday, in other word, find a solution that is sustainable for you, is very important no matter if you choose podcast or cartoon......

Good luck!

Hey Hadar,

I don't want to be a downer, but you’re probably going to find Chinese radio/podcasts pretty complex if you’re a beginner, I still find it hard to understand sometimes. I’d recommend something like LingQ, where you can find more intermediate content, or Mandarin vlogers/YouTubers on Chinese and Western social media sites (like Bilibili and 微博), or even some easier television shows/cartoons, but if you are insistent on podcasts, then try something like Ximalaya 喜馬拉雅. There are loads of different shows on there, but it can be difficult to find something you're really interested in. I listened to a few episodes of 老馬侃美國 I think, as well as 曉霏說法國 if I'm not mistaken, but it's been so long since I listened to anything on there to be honest.

If you're looking for radio, then try Dragonfly FM 蜻蜓FM, it’s an online radio site that let’s you listen live and listen again to most major radio stations in China. I went through a period of listening to a show on 江蘇廣播電台 called 曉東有話說. The host had a nice voice and I liked his style. Do be aware that when people phone into radio stations in China they often have very strong accents and speak something in between dialect and Mandarin, which I personally find very difficult to understand. Don't get disheartened!

When I was a beginner I got my friends to record simple books for me, like Grimm's Fairy Tales 《格林童話》 and The Little Prince 《小王子》 as well as just chatting to people to improve my listening skills until I could understand more intermediate content. That being said, there are more intermediate resources available now like Slow Chinese 慢中文 and VOA 美國之音, but I've never really used them.
