I was wondering what is exactly the meaning of "schon" in this sentence!
"Mein Opa war auch schon Bäcker"

Explanation of the word 'schon': (in conjunction with an indication since when something exists) emphasizes that something is not a new phenomenon, not a new state, or process, but has been formed long before
EXAMPLES
schon Platon hat diese Ideen vertreten
schon als Kinder/als Kinder schon hatten wir eine Vorliebe für sie
Plato already represented these ideas
already as children we had a preference for them

That is just emphasising the fact that another person , perhaps the speaker himself, is also a baker. ‚Schon‘ is used here as a so called ‚Modalpartikel‘.
