Professional Teacher#A discussion for Chinese lovers ----Simple characters but rich in meaning!
This is a simple and short Chinese poem from Bei Song Dynasty. You may can read all the characters but can you feel what the poet wanted to express?
《山村咏怀》
一去二三里, 烟村四五家。
亭台六七座,八九十枝花。
Welcome to write down what you get from this poem to share with me.

Just for fun, here’s my interpretation, which is almost certainly inaccurate: The poet is returning home and only has 1 or two miles left to go. (We have a saying that the last mile is the longest.) The poet (I get the feeling it’s a man) sees smoke from the chimneys of a few houses, perhaps including his own, and he feels a sense of relief. Maybe 六七座 is an allusion to the poet’s family members who come out to meet him in the flower garden, or maybe bearing flowers.
