Is there any difference between يوم and اليوم
يوم = day and اليوم = Today or both are the same meaning ?

would you say, there is a difference between امس and بارح ? First I thought that baarih is only used in dialects, but I have met the word also in fusha. Are they interchangeable or is there a subtle difference?
