Hi Carolina. What’s your level approximately? That’ll help people recommend something that’s not too easy or too difficult.

John Green is a popular author that you can look up. The Fault in Our Stars is probably his most famous book. It’s been adapted into a film too. It’s Young Adult Fiction, about a romance between two cancer patients/ survivors.

An all-time favorite book in the UK is "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell. I believe it used to required reading for young students. It's light, romantic, and funny: https://www.amazon.com/Family-Animals-Macmillan-Collectors-Library/dp/1909621986;

Two classic English novels are Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. I love them both!

In that case, watching the movie before you read the book might help you understand the book better, because from what I remember, the language is a little more advanced in John Green’s books.

Another option is to just reread a book that you’ve already read in your native tongue. The benefit of this is that you’re already very familiar with the story, so you have loads of context to help you guess the meaning of certain words in the book.
