This is a loaded question. Of course everybody is going to say they hate "harsh", "arrogant" people, because those terms are inherently negative. However, many people who would be called "harsh" and "arrogant" by others just know how to put their own best interests first instead of being a push-over for everybody else to walk on. Those people make life better for us all, and I, for one, am grateful they exist.

Okay, I will be the one with the different opinion again.. But, although being too harsh and too arrogant is not good, I like it when people speak their opinion clearly. Say what you have on your mind, directly, without being polite. I do not like over politeness. Rather I want people to be direct, clear, no sidepaths.

Some people think that is arrogant. I am from Amsterdam, most people in my country that are not from Amsterdam, say that we are arrogant. But we are not thinking we are better. We just speak our mind with much confidence.

Harsh hmm

but I like arrogance in people if they are also smart, this is when it actually comes from confidence and knowing one's potential. 

An example of the difference in perception: The people from the provinces think we are arrogant. But we from the capital sometimes think the people in the provinces are unreliable because they do not speak their mind as directly as we do. I am always very direct, impolite perhaps but you know my opinion. I won't deceive you, I want sugar talk to get something done and then let you down if you want something from me, or when you have a problem.
