Hello everyone,
I am looking for the following, but found nothing. Maybe you got something.
That what I want to do:
1. Read a text on any website with your desktop or mobile phone.
2. Find words that you don' t know.
3. Double-click on them see the translation and get the ability to add the word to your vocabulary.
4. Review the words in a webapp and android app. (keep them synced)
I found vocabla for that, but the servers are kind of bad and there is no abilty to add words in articles on your mobile devices.
I got an idea but there are missing links between the programs, but maybe anyone here got an idea to "fix" this.
1. You can use "Google Dictonary extension" on Chrome, there you can favorite words and add them to your database. On your mobile device you can mark them and share them to the google translate app.
2. Problem: reviewing or sync to a learning app.
Thats the hard part here. I do now that I can export my GoogleTranslate database to a Google Spreadsheet, but this is a manual task and I have to format the spreadsheet again to use it somewhere else.
Anyone got an idea? If you need further information let me know :)
Thank you both for your replies. I am using anki for my law studies. The problem is the TTS doesn't work that well and I think it's very important that you also hear what you are read in foreign languages.
I also tried language immersion. But there is no way to add those words to a database right?
I am right now thinking about coding something by myself
That's an interesting idea, sounds like a good opportunity for someone. Have you used the Language immersion plugin for Chrome? That is pretty cool, although different from what you are looking for.
I have used Anki. They have an app for the iPhone but I'm not sure it has all the functionality you want.
