Do Police in South Korea Carry Guns
I watched "The City of violence" tonight which I enjoyed quite a bit and it got me to thinking. Do Police Officers not regularly carry guns? I mean there was a gun in the film, but it wasn't loaded and shot only once (and missing)! The climactic fight scene at the restaurant at the end would have been so much easier had the two heroes simply had guns instead of staffs (though less epic). Often films are not how reality is, but then again different cultures do things differently. So I guess my question is, do they carry guns or do they really only have staffs?

I did not see any of them carrying guns. Guns are very restricted in Korea, and I believe that only the military can carry them.
