Hello, I just wonder, why nobody corrects this word, when somebody makes a mistake, and writes "grammer".
We are here to learn, and to help.
gram·mar (grmr)n.
I would like to be corrected, every time.
Best wishes!
Sonia, you should realise that submitting something under "Discussions" cannot be corrected.
We are not lazy, we are tired of people like you who kick a gift horse in the mouth, that's all.
I correct it! :( And often discreetly - I'll write a reply which includes the correct spelling of grammar.
Yes, it's an understandable mistake (worker, mixmaster, gramm?r) but just laziness on the part of the writer. I can't spell for people any more than I can learn English for them, so if that person isn't paying attention, it's clear that I'm throwing pearls before swine, so to speak. :D
On the subject of corrections in general, I find the occasional member who'll have a meltdown if anyone dare correct their poor English. Others sincerely believe that "u wanna" is a good example of English, and try to excuse their laziness by saying it's casual or internet English. Rarely, even a native speaker uses the "it's OK, I understand that" comment instead of helping the other person.
...and Sonia, since you asked, please remember to put a space after punctuation marks, otherwise your text becomes squashed and difficult to read. :)
I think they are lazy...
There are now other discussions like this one.
Why people here don´t correct mistakes?
And a lot of people just write "u" instead of "you","wanna","i "(instead of "I")
Good point.
We should know our native language well.
Here in Uruguay, some people make mistakes in Spanish:
eruptos (instead of ERUCTOS) (belch, burp) the difficulty in Spanish here is the C
perisférico (instead of PERIfÉRICO) they add an S
and so on...
