Here in Indonesia, 'waktu adalah uang' or 'time is money' is quite popular :D
Actions speak louder than words (Meaning: Literally, if you say something, prove it through the follow-through of your actions.)
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. (Meaning: Rather than doing actions for others, to give a long-term, sustainable gift, it is best to teach versus doing for others.)
Hello Zahra:
That's difficult to say, because in the United States there are hundreds of proverbs.
Most common is difficult to choose. Perhaps it would be "Murphy's Law" which states:
"If anything can go wrong, it will."
My favorite well-known English proverb is "Live and let live".
I interpret this phrase as meaning that everybody has to tolerate all the opinions and behavior of anybody who neither commits acts of violence nor violates the legal property rights of others.
wow..interesting.
@steveh: I like that proverb!
@Bruce: Hello Bruce.. who's Murphy anyways? :D
@Crystal: is the first proverb has the same meaning to "talk less do more"?
